Salma Hayek the first Mexican to open the doors



Would you rather leave everything you have construct in your country to be the first Mexican to open the doors to every other Mexican in the film industry?
That is what Salma Hayek does during all her journey to be the actress that she is now. As been Mexicans and been women’s we found it very brave, she made the decision to leave all the success she made in Mexico to conquer the film industry from scratch and study all over again. This is the type of women empowerment that every girl should have form themselves. She fight against “machismo” in the industry to get too been know and have a name in all this industry.

Here whole name is Salma Hayek Jimenez born on September 2 of 1966 born and raised in  Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz México. Daughter of the Mexican businessman Sami Hayek and the Mexican opera singer Diana Hayek. At the age of 12 she entered to the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau in Louisiana USA. And in college in the La Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City where she study International Relationship. Since she was young she always dreamed to be an actress. She took classes of interpretation and quick college with the opposition of her family. Her first professional work was in a kids play, after that she participated in several TV soaps in the channel of Televisa. After that she leaves her country and go to Los Angeles to study in the school of Stella Adler. In April of 2007 negotiated with MGM  to become a CEO of her own company of production “Ventanarosa”. On September 21 of 2007 she gave birth to her daughter Valentina Pinault-Hayek, daughter of a French businessman  François-Henri Pinault.

We all know that Salma is one of the most important actresses in Latin America and the USA, she first started by little works in Televisa, in commercials and in the play “Aladino”, after a producer offer to her a role in the novel of “Nuevo Amanecer” and almost immediately  became the protagonist of the beloved TV soap of “Teresa” even though it was a filler novel it broke the record in Mexico, she had an audience of 61%  and thanks to that Salma became famous in Mexico in a blink of an eye. In 2002 she starred the movie of a famous painter in Mexico, Frida Kahlo directed by the British producer Julie Taymor. She begins to produce her own pieces and where presented in the “First International Film Festival of Morelia” after she produced the music video of Prince named “Te Amo Corazon”. In 2003 the movie of “Frida Kahlo” was nominated in six awards in the Oscars.

The Mattel Company release a new doll of “Frida” the date of release was on the International Day of the Women the Kahlo family expressed their inconvenience of the used of the illegal image and rights of Intellectual Property. After that Salma Hayek the one that gave life to the painter expressed her dissatisfied with the use of the image for such purposes: "I cannot believe that they have made a Barbie of our Friducha who never tried to look like anyone and always celebrated his originality #body”.

An inspiration for many people, born and raised in Mexico, thanks to her we can see that even though our looking or gender we can crossed the border of ignorance to the people of Latin America. Salma fought for the dignity for the female gender. She never gave up and showed us that if we have a dream by working on it and fighting for it. We can see that our way of expression and talking can make us connect to the right people to increase in any area that we want and became one of the biggest actors in Latin America and United States.

Salma Hayek: Frida in a mirror


Would you be able to give life to an iconic woman such as Frida Kahlo, an inspiration for many women nowadays? Well, Salma Hayek, a mexican actress, wasn’t afraid of doing this, and she is the best Frida Kahlo we could every have seen on a screen.
On 2002, a drama film directed by Julie Taymor, came out. It was about the life of the surrealist artist Frida Kahlo, starring Salma Hayek.
With this movie, Salma got nominated for a Golden Camera Award for Best International Actress, but didn’t win.
She had a very important and outstanding participation in this very special film, and her nominations for all the awards are a clear prove for this:

She also sang La Bruja, a Mexican folk song that appears in the movie, with band Los Vega.
But, what is so important about her participation in this film that makes it very special? On an interview Salma got asked why was it so important to her top lay Frida on the film, an she said it was very special for her because Frida was like her héroe when she was a little girl.



The mexican actress wants to make people see Mexico the way it hasn’t been seen, saying our country is the nucleus for many art movements, describing Frida as a unique person, Hayek was amazed by being her in this movie because she was the type of person that can take a very bad momento and see the good in it, and then transform it in art.



Time passed, and after the movie was released Salma confessed for “The New York Times” that she had to say "no" to Weinstein when he proposed to take a shower together and offered to give her a massage or oral sex.





Now, the Frida Kahlo’s dolls have arrived, in honor of the International Women’s Day, and Hayek seemed very upset after seeing this doll...

"Frida Kahlo never tried to be or look like anyone else," wrote Hayek. "She celebrated her uniqueness. How could they turn her into a Barbie?
So, what does it seem to you about Salma representing her? Because for us, she is the perfect one for this role…

Pacific and calm is the meaning of her name

Did you know that Salma Hayek was a no one when she arrived to USA? There is a great lesson for Mexico and the world with the success of Mexicans in different areas.  She started from the bottom but in the last 90th Academy Awards she was nominated for Best Actress. Salma has shown that despite her hard life and all the obstacles that life has put her, she is a great actress, producer, mom and human being.





When Salma arrived to the United States she didn't know all the success she would have but thanks to her perseverance Hayek both produced and starred in Frida, a biopic about the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. Since she started producing and acting she has been nominated to 19 awards all around the world. The awards she has won include Glamour magazine’s ‘Woman of the Year Award’, Producers Guild of America’s Celebration of Diversity Award and ‘Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honour’ France, between others.

In September 2017 after the several earthquakes in Mexico he launched a donation campaign to help her people, she contribute to the cause with $100,000 dollars. She has also worked with P&G and UNICEF to raise funding for vaccines against maternal and neonatal tetanus. Salma Hayek frequently visits Lebanon with UNICEF to raise funds for refugees from Syria through the Gucci campaign CHIME FOR CHANGE.

In February of 2018 Hayek broke the silence about the abuse that she says Weinstein made her pass during the filming of Frida Kahlo movie. In the red carpet of the 90th Academy Awards she showed her support to Ashley Judd, the woman who uncovered Harvey Weinstein's sexual predator profile.

Salma Hayek nowadays is a source of inspiration to many women but particularly to latin women. Despite all her full agenda she has demonstrated to be a good mother, wife and she has also exhibit that by being perseverant, positive, and giving all of your effort you can do things you never imagine.
